TEHRAN – Researchers at Research Institute of Petroleum Industry (RIPI) of Iran have managed to come up with a naphthalene sulfonic acid and formaldehyde product to be used in emulsion work at polymerization industries, ISNA reported on Monday.
Also known as beta naphthalene sulfonates in trade, the condensed product may be used in industries involved in production of various plastics, synthetic fabrics, rubbers and resins since the particles in this compound vibrate freely at ‘compressed’ stage.
The product came to test and pilot production after the feasibility studies at Bandar Imam Petrochemical Complex (BIPC) found it practical and valuable.
Self-sufficiency in chemical and petrochemical sector lies at the core of RIPI’s activities.
